Partizan, Dubai and several other high-profile clubs are set to visit Vienna during the 2026-27 season, with BC Vienna drawn into a highly competitive Group B of the AdmiralBet ABA League.

At Monday’s draw in Zagreb, BC Vienna was placed alongside KK Partizan, KK Spartak Subotica and KK Mega Basket of Serbia, Dubai Basketball of the United Arab Emirates, U-BT Cluj-Napoca of Romania, KK Bosna of Bosnia and Herzegovina, KK Zadar of Croatia, KK Ilirija of Slovenia and KK Studentski Centar of Montenegro.

Each team will face every group opponent once at home and once on the road.

After successfully retaining its ABA League status, BC Vienna will enter its second season in the competition. The group features two EuroLeague teams in Partizan and reigning ABA League champion Dubai. U-BT Cluj-Napoca competes in the EuroCup, while KK Spartak Subotica will play in the FIBA Basketball Champions League.

FIRST MEETINGS WITH DUBAI, PARTIZAN AND CLUJ

BC Vienna has never previously faced Partizan, Dubai or Cluj in club competition.

The matchups will provide Vienna with major tests on the court and several high-profile home games at the Dome and Sport Arena Wien. Due to renovation work at the Dome, a portion of the club’s home schedule will be played at Sport Arena Wien.

“We knew that every opponent in the ABA League would be strong,” managing director Petar Stazić said. “With Partizan and Dubai, two of Europe’s leading clubs are coming to Vienna.

“For our team, that represents a major sporting challenge. At the same time, every home game will be a spectacle for the city of Vienna and for basketball fans across Austria. We are really looking forward to it.”

FINAL FOUR FORMAT RETURNS

The ABA League will return to a Final Four format for the 2026-27 season.

The top four teams from each group will advance to the Top 8 stage, with results from the group phase carried over. The top six teams will qualify directly for the playoffs.

The teams finishing seventh and eighth will join the top two teams from the play-out round in a play-in tournament for the remaining quarterfinal spots.

After best-of-three quarterfinal series, the four winners will advance to the Final Four, scheduled for May 28-30, 2027, where the league champion will be crowned.

The full ABA League schedule will be released at a later date. The opening round is scheduled for Sept. 26-28.
