BC Vienna has signed Aleksandar Langović as its third new addition ahead of the 2026/27 season. The 25-year-old Serbian power forward joins the club from Polish top-flight side Twarde Pierniki Toruń.

The 6-foot-9 forward gives Vienna additional options in the frontcourt. While primarily a power forward, Langović can also play at center.

“I am very happy to become part of this organisation. The club’s vision, its ambitions and the professional way it operates were the main reasons behind my decision,” said Langović.

Developed in Mega’s talent system

Langović comes from Prijepolje in south-western Serbia. In 2015, he joined the renowned youth programme of KK Mega Basket, an organisation known for developing young talent and preparing players for professional basketball from an early age.

It was in Belgrade that Langović first began to attract international attention.

At the Euroleague Basketball Adidas Next Generation Tournament qualifier in January 2018, he was named tournament MVP and selected to the All-Tournament Team.

Langović earned a place on Mega’s senior roster for the 2018/19 season. At just 17 years of age, he began the transition from highly rated prospect to professional player.

Through the cooperation between Mega and OKK Beograd, he also gained valuable playing time in the Serbian league. He later made his ABA League debut for Mega in a brief appearance.

Further spells with KK Podgorica and Borac Banja Luka took him to the ABA League 2, where he continued his development and increasingly established himself as a modern big man who can pose a threat both inside and outside the paint.

Breakthrough in Poland

In the summer of 2023, Langović moved to Poland and joined Spójnia Stargard. He featured in both the domestic league and the FIBA Europe Cup before moving within the Orlen Basket Liga to Twarde Pierniki Toruń one year later.

At Toruń, Langović took on significantly more responsibility and developed into one of the team’s key players. Last season, he averaged 14.0 points and 5.9 rebounds per game.

Head coach Dragan Bajić sees those performances as the continuation of his steady development.

“Aleksandar has improved his game from season to season. His two years in Poland have given him additional confidence and an even better understanding of his own strengths,” said Bajić.

By moving to Vienna, Langović now returns to the AdmiralBet ABA League. For Bajić, it is the logical next step for a player who still has plenty of room to develop.

“He saw a great opportunity in the ABA League and was deliberately looking for his next challenge. He wants to prove himself at a higher level and take further steps in his career.”

Presence inside and a threat from outside

Langović brings athleticism, length and presence around the basket. In the pick-and-roll, he attacks the rim with purpose and consistently finds open spaces. At the same time, his shooting ability allows him to stretch the floor.

That versatility gives BC Vienna greater flexibility and provides different options depending on the lineup.

“With him, we add more toughness and presence around the basket,” said Bajić. “He is a very good rebounder and can cover both big-man positions offensively. He attacks the rim consistently, but can also pop to the perimeter and finish from outside. He is a significant addition to our roster.”

International experience from an early age

Langović also gained international experience at the highest youth level early in his career. He won a bronze medal with Serbia at the 2017 FIBA U16 European Championship and represented his country at the FIBA U17 Basketball World Cup one year later.

Vienna now marks the next chapter in his career.

“I am looking forward to meeting my new teammates and contributing from the very first day. Our shared goal is to be as successful as possible in the upcoming season,” said Langović.
